Research
The Department of Geomatics undertakes a wide range of pure and applied research projects in measurement science, land and geographic information systems, and land and environment management.
The research is undertaken by staff and post-graduate students, often with the support of both the private sector and local, state and federal government agencies. Support for our research comes primarily from competetive grants, principally funded through the Australian Research Council, other state and federal funding bodies, and private companies both in Australia and overseas. A large portion of the research is carried out collaboratively with other countries.
