Layout

The layout of information on the plan sheet is often limited by convention, but at all times must be clear, concise and unambiguous. Layout is governed by the rules of aesthetics (that is it must appear 'nice') however accuracy of information is paramount. The best way to study drawing layout is to look at existing plan types such as those illustrated in the Survey Practice Handbook (Surveyors Board, Victoria).
