Integrated Rural Development Programs of PDA

PDA adopts a wholly integrated approach to rural development, it is not an aid organisation. Rather it is one that transfers skills and appropriate technologies to rural Thailand so that the people can have greater control over their lives.

The Sky Irrigation/Vegetable Bank Project

This project involves the corporate sector and donor bodies in the supply of year-round water for small-scale intensive agriculture at the village level. There are over 45 such projects in operation, this link gives details on the systems of irrigation and management in use.

CBIRD: Community Based Involvement in Rural Development

The PDA project centres in rural Thailand are generally known as CBIRD Centres, and often a variety of projects may be in operation at the location. This link will give an overview of the activities being undertaken at these Centres around rural Thailand.
