For the Sydney 2000 Olympics the Powerhouse
Museum decided to support their more 'traditional' exhibits with leading
edge virtual reality. This involved employing dchavu to set up a narrated
3D tour of Olympia, set in March 200BC.
The State Library of Victoria, who is in possession
of Ned Kelly's armour, commissioned the installation of a virtual
reality multimedia initiative known as Experimedia. The
dchavu unit's purpose was to scan the armour to use as the basis
for a multimedia presentation within the library.
The management committee of Uluru recognised
the need for a cultural site management system, which is capable
of dealing with a variety of records and information relating to
cultural sites in the Uluru region. This was developed following
over 80 photogrammetric surveys of rock art sites around Uluru by
dchavu.
