A half day symposium on "The role of GIS in the health sector" was held on Wednesday 9th July, 9.00 - 1.00pm at the Department of Geomatics, University of Melbourne. It was designed to present the current status of GIS developments in the health sector.

It was supported and had involvement from some of GPAC, GDV, Royal Children's Hospital, GISCA (The University of Adelaide), Department of Human Services, the Divisions of General Practice and the Centre for Geographic Information Systems and Modelling (The University of Melbourne).
